Ask the AFi webinar: Setting and achieving supply chain commitments
22 janvier 2026
Learn about setting commitments and charting progress pathways to achieve impact across company supply chains
Agricultural and forestry commodity production is a major driver of deforestation, land conversion, and human rights violations—as well as a contributor to biodiversity loss and greenhouse gas emissions. To urgently address these issues, companies that buy, produce, or finance soft commitments must set commitments backed by credible action plans. The Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) recently launched its new Operational Guidance on Commitments and Progress Pathways. It guides companies and financial institutions on how to establish responsible supply chain commitments, as well as how to create the stepwise plans and milestones needed to achieve them.
This ‘Ask the AFi’ webinar was led by members of the AFi Backbone Team. It featured a 20-minute presentation, followed by 40-minutes of open Q&A. The session allowed companies, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to learn more about the guidance and receive practical feedback on related questions. It explored what credible commitments and action plans look like, with guidance for different types of companies across the supply chain.
