L’Oreal

L’Oréal Group is the world’s largest cosmetics company, sourcing commodities such as palm oil (and derivatives), soy oil (and derivatives), and wood fibre-based products.

Since launching its Zero Deforestation policy in 2014, L’Oréal has been implementing an action plan for responsible sourcing of key agricultural commodities that incorporates many elements of the Accountability Framework.

In 2021, L’Oréal released its 2030 Forest Policy, using the Accountability Framework to clearly define deforestation and conversion, and to develop guidelines in its palm roadmap regarding transparency, supplier engagement, source compliance, and support to independent smallholders.

L’Oréal plans to continue using the Framework as a key reference to ensure its commitments to responsible sourcing are aligned with consensus-based guidance.
