AFi launches new e-learning module on reporting, disclosure, and claims
25 April 2025
See how companies can report and disclose on their responsible supply chain goals with the AFi’s new e-learning module.
As expectations for transparency around supply chain impacts grow, companies need to clearly and credibly report on their actions and progress towards responsible sourcing goals. To meet both legal and voluntary reporting requirements, strong internal systems that incorporate best practices for robust reporting are key. These systems help companies follow widely accepted standards and back up their claims with solid evidence.
By using the Accountability Framework as a guide, companies can stay on track and meet their disclosure expectations with confidence.
Learn about responsible supply chains with the AFi e-learning platform
The AFi e-learning platform is an online resource designed to help companies apply the Accountability Framework to eliminate deforestation, conversion, and human rights violations from their supply chains. It features modules highlighting the key actions companies can take to achieve their responsible supply chain goals.
To date, the AFi has launched e-learning modules on how to:
- Set and strengthen supply chain goals
- Establish company systems
- Manage supply chains
- Manage commodity production
- Collaborate for sectoral success
What are the key features of the Report progress module?
This module includes a short video introduction outlining the role that corporate reporting and disclosure have in meeting responsible supply chain goals. It also features lessons with interactive content, expert videos, and knowledge checks, across the following three topics:
- An overview of reporting, including the relationship between mandatory, voluntary, business-to-business (internal), and public (external) reporting
- The key components to include in company reporting, such as risk exposure, management systems, traceability, and supplier management
- Making clear and credible claims about company performance
Why complete this module?
By the end of this module, your team will have a clearer, more confident grasp of how to use the Accountability Framework’s guidance on reporting, disclosure, and claims. They’ll see how this guidance helps your company report in a thorough and credible way, showing performance and real progress towards your responsible supply chain goals.
This module also breaks down how the Framework aligns with major reporting and disclosure platforms like the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and CDP, and offers practical tips on how to disclose on the status of volumes in their supply chains in a credible way. Plus, it gives teams a solid understanding of what makes a claim credible and how to back them up with robust evidence, helping your company to meet both regulatory and voluntary expectations.
Not sure where to start?
Don’t worry! The AFi e-learning platform also features an introductory module where users can learn more about the Accountability Framework and the programme of the AFi. The module outlines the Framework’s seven action areas and companies can use the guidance of the Framework to accelerate their progress towards responsible agriculture and forestry supply chains.
