AFi launches new e-learning modules on supply chain commitments

Learn how to implement and fulfil responsible supply chain goals with the AFi’s latest e-learning modules
The production of agricultural and forestry commodities remains a major driver of deforestation, ecosystem conversion, and human rights abuses, as well as biodiversity loss and greenhouse gas emissions.
Addressing these impacts requires more than ambitious policies. Companies need clear and credible responsible supply chain commitments—and plans to implement and fulfil them. To help companies on this journey, the AFi launched its Operational Guidance on Commitments and Progress Pathways in December 2025.
Our new e-learning micro modules help companies and financial institutions apply this guidance in practice. They explain how to develop commitments, create stepwise action plans with clear milestones, and track progress in line with the Accountability Framework.
Learn about responsible supply chains with the AFi e-learning platform
The AFi e-learning platform is an online resource designed to help companies apply the Accountability Framework to eliminate deforestation, conversion, and human rights violations from their supply chains. To date, the AFi has launched e-learning modules on how to:
- Set and strengthen supply chain goals
- Establish company systems
- Manage supply chains
- Manage commodity production
- Collaborate for sectoral success
Now, the AFi is launching two new micro-learning modules that can help learners set and strengthen their supply chain goals, drawing on the recommendations of the Operational Guidance on Commitments and Progress Pathways. The two modules are under ten minutes each, and focus on:
- Progress pathways
- Fulfilling commitments
What are the key features of the Progress pathways micro module?
This module outlines how companies can turn their commitments into credible, time-bound progress pathways. It explains:
- What progress pathways are and why they are important
- How companies can set targets and identify appropriate milestones
- How companies can create action plans to achieve their targets
Key features of the Fulfilling commitments micro module
This module explores what is expected of companies after they've set commitments and how to begin implementation. It explores:
- What it means to fulfil a responsible supply chain commitment
- How to sustain high performance over time
- What to do if a company misses its target or milestone
Why complete these modules?
By the end of these two new micro modules, learners will take away a deeper understanding of the Accountability Framework’s guidance on supply chain commitments. This includes how to work towards achieving them, and how to sustain them in the long term.

The module outlines the Framework’s seven action areas, and how companies can use the guidance of the Framework to accelerate their progress towards responsible agriculture and forestry supply chains.
