Ask the AFi: Setting and achieving supply chain commitments
Learn about setting commitments and charting progress pathways to achieve impact across company supply chains
Agricultural and forestry commodity production is a major driver of deforestation, land conversion, and human rights violations—as well as a contributor to biodiversity loss and greenhouse gas emissions. To urgently address these issues, companies that buy, produce, or finance soft commitments must set commitments backed by credible action plans.
The Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) recently launched its new Operational Guidance on Commitments and Progress Pathways. It guides companies and financial institutions on how to establish responsible supply chain commitments, as well as how to create the stepwise plans and milestones needed to achieve them.
Led by AFi Director Jeff Milder, this webinar will feature a 20-minute presentation, followed by 40-minutes of open Q&A. The session will allow companies, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to learn more about the guidance and receive practical feedback on related questions. It will explore what credible commitments and action plans look like, with guidance for different types of companies across the supply chain.
