Mongabay webinar: How to cover the EUDR
15 September 2025
AFi Lead Scientist Leah Samberg joined Mongabay to discuss actions companies can take to achieve responsible commodity supply chains and position themselves for compliance with the EUDR.
The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is set to take effect at the end of 2025. It will require companies importing select commodities into the European Union to track the origins of their products throughout the entire supply chain. The goal is to ensure that products are deforestation-free. However, the delayed legislation could face additional hurdles. Industry argues that compliance will be costly for them. Experts and NGO data suggest otherwise.
This webinar is for journalists and other stakeholders interested in better understanding the role of the EUDR in supporting the transition to responsible agricultural and forestry production and trade. It explores the different voluntary and mandatory actions companies are taking across their operations and supply chains, and how the Accountability Framework can help guide them.
