AFi Webinar: Managing deforestation risk in investment portfolios
Explore how financial institutions can use the new AFi Investor Tool to assess and engage their portfolios to understand and reduce risks.
Deforestation and associated carbon emissions and human rights abuses are pervasive in agricultural and forestry supply chains. To address these material risks, investors need to understand exposure across their portfolios, and conduct targeted engagement where it matters most.
Building on its longstanding role in guiding the responsible supply chain transition for companies, the Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) has developed a new tool for investors. The AFi Investor Tool supports financial institutions to assess the risk and performance of portfolio companies, and to identify and carry out focused stewardship that makes a difference. The tool has been created in collaboration with the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), and piloted by leading investors with their portfolio companies.
This webinar will introduce the tool and explore how financial institutions can use it to assess and engage their portfolios to understand and reduce risks. Investors and investees alike will gain a deeper understanding of the criteria and data sources available to them.
